The Southern Ridges

October 06, 2020

Background information

  • Opening hours: 0700 - 1900
  • 10 km of green, open spaces that connect Mount Faber Park, Telok Blangah Hill Park, HortPark, Kent Ridge Park and Labrador Nature Reserve

How I got there

Took MRT to one-north station, but you can start from Kent Ridge MRT.

My route

southern Route

Started somewhere near one-north MRT and ended when I entered Vivocity.

Basically took Route A (but starting from Kent Ridge), which did not cover Labrador Nature Reserve.

The experience

southern 1

First, we walked through Kent Ridge Park. I think I might have missed the Canopy Walk by taking the wrong path though, but oh well.

southern 2

I crossed this cool looking overhead bridge which I think should be the Alexandra Arch.

There was also the Forest Walk which was really nice, as the entire pathway is like elevated above the forest. Stupid me forgot to take a photo.

Then, it was just back to the ground with a huge open space. Lots of different flowers and plants were being grown at the sides and there were some glasshouse looking structures as well.

southern 5

Next, I crossed the even more spectacular Henderson Waves. The bridge was super wide and you can stop to enjoy the breathtaking view.

Finally, we entered Mount Faber Park. Was tempted to take the cable car, but decided to walk the final part of the path left and made it to Vivocity!
