Background information

  • Address: MacRitchie Reservoir Park, Singapore 298717
  • 11km of walking trail

How I got there

Took bus 855 to Opp Macritchie Reservoir bus stop.

My route

macritchie Route

Started from near the bus stop and then also ended at the bus stop (actually forgot to stop the tracking at the bus stop itself so the final part included a small bit of the bus ride back home)

Unfortunately, TreeTop Walk is closed until next year.

I’ve been here twice, but during the first trip, I just did a round trip between the starting place and Jelutong Tower. The second trip covers the entire MacRitchie Nature Trial.

Photos shown here were taken from the first trip though, as I didn’t take any during the second trip.

The experience

Wow, 11km is really no joke (at least for unhealthy old me). Anyway, the path starts off like any park as usual, with all the nice greenery.

After a short walk, the path splits between Chemperai Boardwalk and Lornie Trail. In my first trip, I got to experience both ways because of the round trip. For the second trip, I took the Chemperai Boardwalk to avoid the muddy path.

This is how Lornie Trail looked like - a very pleasant walk while enjoying the shelter provided by the trees. The muddy road was not pleasant though.

After that, it was just a straight and long path next to Singapore Island Country Club.

Finally reached Jelutong Tower, which was another simply tower for observation. It has more stories so it was more tiring to climb to the top, and I wouldn’t say that the view is that great either to be honest.

Then, it was just continuing the rest of the path, passing by the closed TreeTop Walk. There’s a ranger station too for a quick toilet break or refilling your water bottle.
